  • By the year 2020, second generation Hispanics in the U.S. will make up 13.4% of all school-aged children (ages 5 to 19) going to school in the United States

  • Hispanics with less than a High School diploma had an average net worth of 4,475-dollars in 2002

  • Hispanics with a High School diploma had an average net worth of 8,077-dollars in 2002

  • 84% of Hispanics born in the U.S. have finished High School

  • 31% of Hispanics who graduate High School do so with at least one math course more challenging than Algebra II and Geometry I

  • In 2000, 26% of Hispanic students in the 8th grade said that they had missed at least three days of school in the preceding month, compared to 40% of Hispanic students who reported they had not missed any school days in the previous month

  • In 2000, 34% of Hispanic students in the 12th grade reported having missed at least 3 days of school in the preceding month compared to 31% of Hispanic students who reported not having missed any school the previous month

  • At the turn of the century 64% of Hispanics ages 18-24 had completed secondary education, compared to 92% of white non-Hispanics
