In 2001, there were 8.4 million Latino children enrolled in grades K-12; this made up for 16% of all children in the United States enrolled in primary and secondary schools
19% of students in kindergarten were Hispanic in 2001
By the year 2020, second generation Hispanics in the U.S. will make up 13.4% of all school-aged children (ages 5 to 19) going to school in the United States
