HSHPS holds its Annual Board Meeting. The goal of this meeting was to introduce previous HSHPS activities and improve them, as well as discuss plans for 2005 Hispanic health initiatives. Faculty members were together to identify new frontiers in health disparities research, and to form collaborations to guide the future direction of Hispanic health. The result of this meeting was a new outlook on the future of HSHPS and its programs, and a clear vision of how to approach the disparities that exist within the Hispanic community.

February 25th-26th, 2005
HSHPS holds a Faculty Development Symposium. The symposium was an opportunity to bring together faculty from HSHPS member institutions, and communicate on issues of concern. The goal of this meeting was to create ways to identify, train and retain Hispanic faculty in research and higher education facilities; and to identify HSHPS’s role in this effort. The meeting resulted in strategies to achieve the goal of the meeting, and setting clear agendas within the HSHPS programs to achieve these goals.
