HSHPS U.S.-Mexico Research Symposium (Part three)
July 19, 2002 – July 21, 2002

As part of HSHPS’ Research Initiative; the third segment of the four part series was held in July 2002 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This installment of the series identified specific research projects to be explored in each border region.  With administrative support and guidance from HSHPS, several faculty members from our member institutions submitted research proposals to the CDC. Subsequently, two separate projects received funding.  "The Environmental Health and Medicine Initiative" and the "Environmental Health Practice in Lower Rio Grande Valley" project were funded as a direct result of this series.
